# Quality Clouds 23.12.0.0 Release Notes

## ServiceNow new best practice

- **Name:  Potential Recursive Business Rules - current.update() **

**Description:**

A new best practice [“Potential Recursive Business Rules - current.update()”](https://docs.qualityclouds.com/qcd/potential-recursive-business-rules-current-update-105480247.html) with the rule ID **[SN-0005-EXTENDED](https://docs.qualityclouds.com/qcd/potential-recursive-business-rules-current-update-105480247.html)** has been created, improving an existing one: [“Potential recursive Business Rules”](https://docs.qualityclouds.com/qcd/potential-recursive-business-rules-31720189.html) with the rule ID [**SN-0005**](https://docs.qualityclouds.com/qcd/potential-recursive-business-rules-31720189.html).

The new rule retains the same functionality but extends its scope to include cases where the action is INSERT, and the 'when' condition is not checked.

The previous ServiceNow rule [“Potential recursive Business Rules”](https://docs.qualityclouds.com/qcd/potential-recursive-business-rules-31720189.html) with the rule ID [**SN-0005**,](https://docs.qualityclouds.com/qcd/potential-recursive-business-rules-31720189.html) only considered the "update()" action.

It is not recommended to have both rules enabled because it will encounter the same or similar issue in both rules, resulting in double counts and incorrect data.

The new rule **[SN-0005-EXTENDED](https://docs.qualityclouds.com/qcd/potential-recursive-business-rules-current-update-105480247.html)** will be accessible in the "Rulesets" section but it is necessary to enable it manually through the [QC admin portal](https://docs.qualityclouds.com/qcd/navigating-the-admin-portal-22906197.html#:~:text=with%20operational%20alerts.-,Rulesets,-Use%20this%20section), in those instances you want to enable.

Remember to ignore the previous rule ID [**SN-0005**](https://docs.qualityclouds.com/qcd/potential-recursive-business-rules-31720189.html) and write off all existing issues triggered by that rule.

→ **How to ignore the previous rule?**

1. Log in QC platform.
2. Access to admin portal.
3. Navigate to the** "Rulesets"** section.
4. Choose the specific instance in which you want to ignore the rule.
5. In the **"Description" **field, enter the **exact title** of the rule: [Potential recursive Business Rules](https://docs.qualityclouds.com/qcd/potential-recursive-business-rules-31720189.html)

6. Click the **"ignore rule"** button and **confirm.**

→ **How to enable the new rule?**

1. Log in QC platform.
2. Access to admin portal.
