Impact #

Orphan Dictionary entries – that is, Dictionary Entries defined on a table which does not exist in the instance, can be introduced in an instance through careless management of Update Sets. The presence of such Dictionary Entries in an instance is likely to confuse both administrators and developers, and can introduce hard to debug issues.

Remediation

Ensure that all active Dictionary Entries are associated with an active table, and that no active Dictionary Entries reference a non-existing table in the Instance.
